Overview
Lead a team that acts as a business partner to Finance, Legal, Corporate Development & Partnerships, CIO, and P&P functions, directly serving as the strategic partner to executives by driving effective end-to-end talent strategies (i.e. org design, compensation, performance management, leadership hiring requirements, talent assessment, workforce mgmt, etc. ) that enable their business growth and scale. This role will also have additional responsibilities in Talent Management, Leadership Development, and strategic program management functions to enable top talent acceleration and retention. Acting as both a strategic advisor and hands-on leader, this role will drive people strategy, lead critical projects (including M&A due diligence and integration), and oversee talent management initiatives that enable organizational growth and transformation.

 As a key leader and contributor to company-wide initiatives, you will adopt a player/coach approach—owning the execution of core People workstreams while also developing and leading a high-performing HR team. You will partner closely with senior leaders and executive stakeholders to deliver frameworks, programs, and solutions that shape the employee experience and support a high-performance culture.

We are looking for a balance of strategic influence and operational excellence, designing and implementing talent strategies, leading change management efforts, and ensuring the successful execution of critical HR initiatives. With a focus on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and employee engagement, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and a key driver of people and culture outcomes across the company.

You will
  • Be a key leader and contributor to company initiatives and responsible for the execution of People workstreams, owning the execution of key deliverables with a player/coach approach
  • Expert in organizational design, partnering with leaders to strategize and execute changes that are aligned to maximize business impact, partnering with Sr. leaders on org transformation, change management, and execution
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, influencing decision-making and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Gains and maintains a deep understanding of the broader business to drive the relevant talent strategies under the responsibility of this role
  • Directly manage complex projects from end to end (including M&A activity), engaging with internal and external stakeholders to execute successfully with clear deliverables and success metrics, and leading team members to do the same 
  • Responsible for partnering with leaders to craft and execute an end-to-end talent strategies that enable their business goals
  • Develop, implement, and monitor talent management programs, including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Provide counsel on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and engagement strategies
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Enablement, and Internal Communications, Engagement & Inclusion to deliver integrated HR solutions
  • Use data and analytics to assess trends, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions to improve organizational effectiveness, partnering with VP/C-Staff to create, implement, and execute action plans and solutions
  • Acts as a champion of culture, role modeling and coaching other leaders, holding them accountable to do the same, while cultivating an environment that supports our values and drives a performance-based culture  
  • Coach, develop, and lead an HR team in the above capabilities, proactively building positive team culture through engaging the team, actively leading team and cross-functional projects, and creating a culture of growth 

You have
  • 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, with at least 3 years partnering with Senior Leadership (C-Suite level) 
  • Has demonstrated strong business and financial acumen and is known for proactively partnering and developing strategies that directly impact business goals and growth 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic business environment; high volume experience desired 
  • Strong background in managing HR projects, including M&A due diligence and integration.
  • A solid track record of influencing senior business leaders while demonstrating excellent decision-making skills 
  • Ability to be agile and flexible, working at the strategic level but also comfortable executing on tactical components with a player/coach mentality and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and dive into the execution as needed
  • Experience building durable organizational talent plans to identify current and future talent needs to execute against  
  • Experience in leading a team and driving change while building this capability in others 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred 
 
LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($160,000 - $275,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
